Picking Strawberries

Strawberries

This afternoon we celebrated a baby shower at work by going on a strawberry picking outing rather than have a typical cake and ice cream party. It is near the end of strawberry season at Waller Family Farms in Durham. There were still lots of ripe strawberries, especially the small, juicy ones. Those of us who seemed to just pick a few berries had around 2 pounds worth. A couple people were strawberry picking machines and had about 7 pounds. Not quite as big as the baby we were celebrating, but more strawberries that anyone could eat.

This was a fun way to spend a late spring with collegues. Here’s a link to my photos on Flickr
