Early Voting in North Carolina

Early Voting

North Carolina is a swing state in this year’s presidential election, so it is important for everyone to get out and vote. Early voting started this past Thursday, and record numbers of voters have turned out. Durham County saw 11,600 voters in just two days.

I went out this morning to cast my ballot. The crowd was a little bit lighter than I had expected on a Saturday morning, but there are seven early polling places in Durham County, including one at Duke. Read this post about early voting from Bull City Rising.

Here is a link to a few more early voting pictures I took. Also, check out the Flickr group Abby started to capture everyone’s early voting experiences. Join the group and add your photos.

And finally, I want to start adding a bit more video to my blog, so I shot a short video interview with the people at the front of the line this morning. Polls opened at 9:00 am, and this video was shot about 8:45 am.

Here’s a link to my early voter video, if the player above doesn’t work.
