Today is the day that we have been waiting for for over four years. There may be a tendency to say that we have survived one of the worst presidencies in US History, but survival is a low bar. Societal norms are in tatters. Political functions are more partisan and gridlocked than ever. Families and friends are no longer speaking to each other. And hundreds of thousands are dead from a pandemic that could have been controlled. Oh yeah, the Capitol building was invaded to overturn the government. It will take some time to recover, if ever, from these past four years.
