Shaken and Stirred

A friend of mine started treatments for a recently diagnosed tumor. We stayed at their house a couple of months ago and a bout of bursitis was the only complaint.

The tumor has continued growing, with limited response to treatment. And suddenly the only course of action is to end the cancer treatments and focus on pain management through hospice.

I was shaken by the news that my friend is dying. And this is one of the healthiest and health-conscious people I know.

As these cancer-diagnoses of friends keep coming, each one hits hard. I won't get numb to it. I can't ignore how it feels.
