Revisions

I wrote a post recently that I keep going back to and revising. It started with fixing typos, then it became tweaking word choice and finally it became changing sentences, moving sentences and adding new ideas to increase the tension of the paragraph long story.

Sometimes I think of writing like a director shooting a scene in a movie and an editor assembling it. Every sentence is a choice of where to point the camera and what to focus on in the shot. The pacing is determined by the length of each shot and the story is built by what to show next.
