A protein cookie is the perfect icon for today’s marketing of food. It is loaded with something that is supposed to be good for you–protein–but it is inherently bad for you. This is a direct descendent from vitamins in sugary kids’ cereal. It works because those kids have grown up. Of course we can eat cookies if they have extra protein.
Just don’t look at the nutritional information too closely. One cookie is really two servings. Nobody is eating half a cookie. And that whole cookie has 600 calories.
