Notes from a First Grade Report Card

The most interesting thing about my first grade report card is the list of  subcategories beneath each subject. While I was not evaluated expressly on these subcategories, I imagine they were part of the roll-up grade for each area:

Arithmetic: Understands the idea (concept) of number

Reading: Gives proper value to adjacent vowels: ai, oa, etc.

Science and Social Studies: Shows interest in the world around him, Shows interest in simple experiments

Art: Uses good choice of colors, Fills space well

Work and Study Habits: Does not sacrifice good work for supplementary activity

Social Behavior: Respects authority, Assumes his share of responsibility

Teacher's Comments First Marking Period: Jeffrey works hard and aims to please

Teacher's Comments Fourth Marketing Period: I enjoyed teaching Jeffrey and wish him luck always.
