Mountainous Views

I live on a mountain outside Chattanooga, Tennessee. The view one street over is of the whole valley, including the tallest and most notable mountain in Chattanooga.

I just got back from visiting Colorado and I had to qualify the elevation of my mountain as small. It's about 1,800 feet above sea level and the iconic Lookout Mountain is about 2,000 feet. On clear days we can even see several 4,000 foot mountains in Georgia. These are normal East Coast Mountains.

The tallest Colorado mountains are over 14,000 feet and there are more than 50 in the state. And I had a perfect view of Long's Peak, the tallest 14er in Rocky Mountain National Park, from the summit of the 10,000 foot mountain I had just hiked.
