Lolita Tea Party

The women arrived in the park singly and in small groups. But they were very prompt. They were dressed in fancy gowns. But not formal wear. They were dressed as if Strawberry Shortcake were the custom designer for a picnic scene in the movie made from a second tier Jane Austin novel. Most of them pulled rolling suitcases filled with other outfits and accessories.

I had no idea what kind of event this way and my internet search proved fruitless. Finally, someone walking by mentioned a Lolita Tea Party, which I looked up. This Japanese import is about expressing individuality through fashion. I left before I saw if they ever ate or drank anything.
