I can just picture the middle-aged, khaki-wearing, minivan-driving white dude from the suburbs climbing onto the road sign to tag it with the three most important letters in his life. He holds his hand up to keep the light-blue paint off his Warby-Parkers as he sprays N-P-R in big bubble letters.
