While the internet is often helpful in learning how to repair things are home, sometimes articles are written for people with knowledge that most don’t have. I was replacing a plug on the end of a damaged cord and the instructions suggested I use an underwriter’s knot, if possible. I have no idea what that is and I didn’t even bother to look it up.
