Hearing My Breath

Today I forgot my headphones, so I ran without music or podcasts. It was an overcast morning with temperatures in the mid-50s, so it was perfect day for running. But I had to listen to the sound of my breathing. And every footstep. Normally I don’t hear these things, but it brought a different level of focus to my run. I paid more attention to how I was running than I normally do. I ran a bit faster than I have been lately, but that was largely due to the weather.
