Escape Artist

Our elderly cat has escape routes from the backyard and often prefers to spend her time in the front. Although these days she seems to want to cross the street , whether it's to follow me when I'm walking the dog or to greet the neighbors. She is moving kind of slow, so if a car came around the corner the cat could not get out of the way.

I started what I called phase one of the escape prevention plan. I put up boards in front of her two known escape routes, expecting her to find others. She has always been an escape artist. So far it's working.

I look out the window and see the car sitting in the middle of the backyard. She seems to be wondering how to get to the front, but doesn't have a plan.
