Don't Believe the Internet

Today is don’t believe the internet day. Big brands create elaborate April Fools jokes to get some press coverage and elicit a laugh from their followers on social media. For example, REI wants me to sign up my pets for travel adventures. I’m not sending my hedgehog on a nine-day climbing trip alone.

And because they can only take the joke so far based on their audience, it carried this disclaimer:

All animals belong to a co-op employee or are a friend of the co-op. No animals were put in harm’s way in the making. Please remember to take your beloved pets on adventures that are suitable and safe for them.
