Customer Thwarting

I called the cable company to cancel my internet service. The first woman could only verify my account and she transferred me to someone else. The rep could only confirm that my identity had been verified, but needed to transfer me to a specialist to cancel the account. The third person I spoke with was able to cancel it, but keep in mind, I had already sent the equipment back. That return does not trigger anything, and the billing continues, even though you have no way to receive the service. This call took 27 minutes. And they will still send someone to my house to disconnect the wires at the house. The whole thing seems like a lot of trouble.
