Consistent Structure

There are shows that begin with what is called a cold open. This is the short segment—sometimes previewing the plot of the episode or sometimes just a stand-alone joke—that happens before the intro and credits. I’ve been watching a show that sometimes has a cold open and sometimes doesn’t. This is not just my OCD craving consistency, but it just makes sense for every episode to structurally begin with short scene to set up the story before the open credits roll, not just some of them.
