Bitter Almond

I ate an almond that had a bitter flavor. It tasted similar to almond extract. That is not how almonds normally taste. It was such a strange sensation that I looked it up on the internet. That’s often not a great idea.

It turns out that bitter almonds have a substance that breaks down into cyanide. Then I had to try to figure out how many bitter almonds one must eat for this deadly poison to have an effect. I think it is about 50. I ate one. And I threw the rest away.
