There is no five-second rule for dogs. If you drop their food on the floor, no matter how quickly you pick it up, just put it back in the bowl. It's not different from what they do.
Our dog—the one with just two teeth—often grabs a piece of food from his bowl, drops it on the floor and then eats it.
